Foodie Heaven: 2022 Restaurant Week(s)

What’s What?

Restaurant Weeks have been coming and going left and right ringing in the new year. But from the harsh winter weather conditions to wanting to just hibernate to being a new dog parent, I’ve not found the time to indulge YET. There’s another wave of restaurant weeks rolling in for Spring, so in my eyes that’s just in time. Check out the restaurant weeks in cities that are coming up and reminisce on the ones that have passed (end of article). I’ve even added 3 new cities to the Restaurant Week list!

Maryland

Annapolis Restaurant Week is Sunday, March 20 to Sunday, March 27, 2022. There are over 40 restaurants participating this year and in the event’s 14th year, the theme is Go All Out. From carryout bargains to dining out and gift cards to save for later, there are several ways to enjoy the food and drink scene. In addition, their website states: “for those looking for new experiences, Annapolis has several new restaurants that have opened over the past year. You can also pick restaurants that offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, waterfront views or that are located in historic buildings. There is something for everyone to enjoy!” Click here to find out which restaurants are participating to make your reservations!

Frederick’s Restaurant Week is March 7-13, 2022. Visit Frederick’s official website boasts that: “This year’s Frederick Restaurant Week features unique and fine dining options available in Downtown Frederick and the surrounding area. Participating restaurants will offer diners multi-course meals at appetizing prices. Visit an old favorite or try something new, Frederick is full of delicious dining options!” They do not have the list of participating restaurants just yet as their RW is in March, however, set an alert to check back here.

Maryland Vegan Restaurant Week has been postponed until Spring 2022. I’m including it in this post since dates (March 4-27, 2022) have already been posted on their website. Right now, there is a Early registration promotion! 40% off of fees until Jan 31. Click here to learn more to participate in MD Vegan Restaurant Week.

Chicago

Chicago is so full of history, great food, and impressive architecture. Every time I go, I create long-lasting, fun memories with my loved ones to remember years and years later so it will always be my favorite city to visit. Since my first trip years ago, I always want to go back (even in the winter!).

First up is Chicago Black Restaurant Week. Coming back for its 7th year, from now through February 20, enjoy eats at Black-owned spots around the city and nearby suburbs. Check here for the list of participating restaurants. And come back here to let me know which restaurants made your taste buds happy! Please be advised that special discounts are decided by each restaurant.

You can also enjoy the city of Chicago’s Restaurant Week March 25 – April 10, 2022. The prices for multi-course meals are $25 for brunch or lunch, and $39 and/or $55 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax, gratuity, and delivery fees). The list of participating restaurants are here.

Virginia

Visit Hampton’s official website states that Hampton’s Restaurant Week is March 7-21, 2022, “with takeout specials available for the first time”! Specials include Eat in or Take out: $10 lunch, $20 and $30 multi-course dinner. See participating restaurants here. Please be advised that some restaurants are dine-in only.

Fairfax County’s Restaurant Week is March 7-14, 2022. For $35, $20, or $10, enjoy a three-course prefixed menu or a two for $10 deal. For where to make your reservations for brunch, lunch, or dinner, visit their website for the list of participating restaurants.

New York

NYC Restaurant Week is more like a month. With the tagline, “Dining out is the City’s most fabulous pastime,” NYC’s Restaurant Week is from January 18-February 13, 2022. There are 2 course lunch and 3 course dinner options across all 5 boroughs, including top-tier restaurants and neighborhood favorites. Cali

LA Restaurant Week is a Spring event from April 1-15, 2022. For right now, there is only save the date info, which can be found here.

Oakland Restaurant Week is for 10 days starting on March 18 lasting through the March 27, 2022. Click here for the deets.

Michigan

Ann Arbor Restaurant Week

Detroit Restaurant Week
Is on pause until the pandemic subsides or is over, per their website. However, Visit Detroit’s website tells us to mark our calendars for Feb. 22-March 3 in a post published in October 2021. This is obviously conflicting information so I will keep a lookout for updates and make them on this blog post.

Restaurant Week is officially upon us but DC isn’t the only city who has a restaurant week worth checking out in the first quarter of 2022. Let’s see, we have Maryland, Virginia, New York, and a couple more bonus cities and states as we let foodie heaven week descend upon us.
DC

First up, of course, is DC. DC Restaurant Week is formally called Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week and I believe it is because includes all of the participating restaurants in the “DMV”, which is great. So DC Restaurant Wek started on January 17 and will last until Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Please be aware that DC’s vaccine entry requirement (of at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination) is required for patrons 12 years and older to dine indoors at restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. However, the mandate does not apply to patrons who are using the bathroom or indulging in takeout. In consideration of this, there is a “RW to Go!” with takeout specials for 2 or 4 people.

Maryland

Baltimore Restaurant Week is January 28-February 6 with dining deals featuring $25, $35, and $45 menus (not including tax and gratuity). Menus have not been posted as of the date of this post however, the participating restaurants are listed and can be found here.

Howard County’s Restaurant Week (& Craft Beverages) is January 17-30 and for two weeks, guests can enjoy the “two week celebration of local food, drink, and community where you can discover our prized culinary and craft beverage scene. I love this plus, participating locations (30+) will be offering unique meals and menus for every taste and budget. Find out which restaurants are participating here.

Restaurant Week at National Harbor is January 21 – 30, 2022. According to the National Harbor’s official website, January is Fooduary and I can dig it. They’re kicking off 2022 with a celebration of food and entertainment. Enjoy prix fixe menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner at over 10 restaurants participating. Eastern Shore Food & Wine Festival is January 21-23, 2022 hosted by the Great Oak Manor. Learn more about the event here.

North Carolina

Charlotte Restaurant Week is from January 21-30, 2022 and will consist of 70 of the best restaurants in 8 counties around the metro Charlotte, NC, area offering 3 courses at dinner for a special prix fixe price ($30, $35, $40, or $45 per person, depending on the restaurant, not including tax and gratuity). Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill)
Triangle Restaurant Week is January 24-30, 2022 and is a week-long celebration of culinary excellence designed to incorporate the premier Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding area restaurants. Visit here and here to know which restaurants are participating and the dining offers.

Georgia

I love food so much, I’ve gone to cities just to eat and southern states are the perfect haven to do just that. I have many favorites in Atlanta and a few in the surrounding areas. Comfort food is my favorite and Georgia be delivering. There are still some parts of the south I do not feel comfy going to, however, I am willing to go outside of my comfort zone for delicious foods.

While Atlanta does not have a formal restaurant week poppin’ right now, they do have “Chili Week”, which is January 17-23, 2022. All participating restaurants are offering $10 meal deals that include 1 side item. To explore the list of restaurants click here.

There are a couple other events that foodies may enjoy, such as The Atlanta Oyster Festival, which is on February 5. The website boasts that: “this is the only Oysterfest where you can get steamed, fried, and raw oysters plus all of our oysters are flown in fresh for Oysterfest.” Learn more about pricing and admission here. Birmingham Restaurant Week returns for its 17th year and from January 24-28 & January 31-February 4, 2022, enjoy “unique menus and a variety of cuisines prepared by top chefs from downtown Birmingham restaurants”, per their website. Visit it here for a list of participating restaurants.

Delaware

Virginia

Downtown Norfolk’s Restaurant Week kicked off on January 16 and will last through January 23, 2022. All participating restaurants are offering $14 brunch or lunch and $30 or $40 dinner options. To explore the list of participating restaurants, visit here.

Alexandria’s Restaurant Week is January 21-30, 2022 and for 10 days (2 weekends) with over 60 participating local restaurants, you can enjoy a $35 prix fixe dinner (for 1 or 2) with in-person and to-go dining options.
