What’s What?

Live on the DC (or the District) Department of Transportation website is a full (and newly updated) list of “all Automated Photo Enforcement Cameras, including cameras for: Red Light Enforcement, Speed Enforcement, Stop Signs, and Oversized Vehicles.” Click here to access that list.

Shoutout to Congress Heights On The Rise, I first came across this vital info from reading her newsletter. She provides (daily) tons of other critical information for all residents of The City but especially those of us in Wards 7 and 8; I 10/10 highly recommend subscribing to her newsletter. She has graciously compiled a full list of all cameras in Districts 6 and 7. You can find that here.

What’s Luxe?

This post is to both bring awareness to traffic & driving safety AND help myself and others avoid getting caught on camera & racking up tickets. My hope is that not being caught on camera means you ARE being a safe and responsible driver. It simply adds more wear & tear to your car and stress to your brain by speeding through the streets until you cannot because there’s a camera (and/or pedestrians, other cars, animals, the list goes on) plus, unless you’re early you’re already late. My road rage has subdued tremendously and I’m very thankful because there’s literally nothing I can do about all day traffic but be more strategic.

How do you feel about all the traffic enforcement cameras in DC? Do you currently have any tickets? Did you take advantage of the DMV amnesty program? Let me know in the comments below. And feel free to share this post with other drivers to keep everyone on their toes as tickets are not the only car-related expense that adds up!
