Coming up in just about a month is DC’s first medical cannabis sales tax holiday! During the 10-day sales tax holiday, medical cannabis products purchased at any of DC’s seven (7) licensed dispensaries will be exempt from the 6% sales tax. Find out where all 7 are located here.
The holiday will start on Friday, April 15, 2022, and end on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
This holiday is part of the Medical Marijuana Patient Access Extension Emergency Amendment Act of 2022, which also permits the FREE issuance of patient and caregiver registrations valid for two (2) years. Read more about that in my 5 Things To Know About Getting Your DC Medical Cannabis Card post.

This super unconventional holiday that I hope turns (or is) yearly fits right into my lifestyle of not celebrating traditional holidays. The traditional holidays I do celebrate I put a twist to it, whether it be the name of it or the type of celebration (because who am I kidding, who doesn’t love a “mandated” day off!)
