I absolutely love Target! From the convenience (Drive Up is my jam), to the quality and availability of products, to the price matching, I honestly cannot get enough! And ever since I became a Target red card holder, my love for Target has increased tremendously. I’ve been a Target red card holder since March 2019. So far this year I’ve saved $50.50 (I’ll update with lifetime savings once I find out). Obviously, if you spend more you save more. This year, I spent money mostly on food (eating out) and I am not ashamed but getting back to the topic, let’s get into why the Target red card is an essential.
Target Red Card Benefits
Even if you don’t have a red card, you’ve most likely seen its marketing, or at least the 5% off tagline. I always thought it was a credit card until one day the 5% off caught my eye because, who doesn’t like to save any amount of money? The best part about the extra 5% off is that it includes sale and clearance items PLUS in-Target Starbucks. The other benefits include:
- an extra 30 days to return
- the option to reduce in-store contact using the Target app at checkout
- free 2-day shipping on most items and order
- exclusive offers and early access
- no annual fee (credit card)
Debit or Credit
You can get the Target red card as a debit or credit card. I applied and was approved for the debit card. It works just like a debit card; it is connected to my checking account and everything. The red card benefits are the same for both cardholders, but debit cardholders are allowed to withdraw up to $40 as cash back at checkout. What’s Luxe
If you frequent Target on a regular basis, the red card is a must have. If you are a Target fan and go there every now and again; it would be no harm in having the debit red card. The immediate benefits of receiving an extra 5% (including Starbucks) off every Target and Target.com purchase is super clutch.
