- ABRA (Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration) is offering NO COST (EXCEPT MMJ CONSULT FEE) 2-year medical cannabis cards for new & renewal patients. a. Applications may be submitted online (recommended), by mail, or in-person every Thursday (for Turnaround Thursdays) through April 28, 2022 between 9a-4p. Previously paid fees are non-refundable.
- Seasoned D.C. citizens can now self-certify! To self-certify, applicants must include this completed and signed self-certification with their application.
- Persons who were issued a one (1) year registration on or after November 10, 2020 may request a new registration valid for two (2) years at no cost.
- The time to renew your DC medical canna card has been extended! If your card expired on or after March 1, 2020 you can still purchase medical cannabis products (at one of the 7 licensed DC dispensaries) until September 30, 2022!
- DC residents, including minors, may legally be recommended, purchase, possess, and use, medical cannabis to treat a diagnosed qualified medical condition or related side effect. Medical cannabis patients, including non-residents extended reciprocity, may purchase up to eight (8) ounces of cannabis within a rolling 30-day period and possess up to two (2) ounces at any time. Allowed formats include flowers, concentrates, edibles, transdermal products, seeds, and seedlings. Federal laws continue to apply including the prohibition of transporting medical cannabis across state lines. The use of medical cannabis is not permitted in public.

All in-person registration events are conducted on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis and are conducted at ABRA’s office located at 2000 14th Street NW Suite 400 in DC. Applications can continued to be mailed, emailed, and submitted online and similarly qualify for two (2) year registrations at no cost. Cheat code: submit your application online like an hour before going up to ABRA (on Turnaround Thursday’s) and you’ll be in & out in less than 10 minutes!
